Dedicated QM Order Thread
#1
QM needs more junk to buy, so after a discussion ingame I thought I would start a thread.

Format:

Crate Name:
Crate Cost: (Leave blank if unsure)
Crate Contents:
Misc/Notes:

My suggestions:

Crate Name: Avian Crate
Crate Cost: 1000
Crate Contents: x6 various birds
Misc/Notes:

Crate Name: Animal Crate
Crate Cost: 2000
Crate Contents: x6 random animals
Misc/Notes: Might have a small chance of containing a space bear?

I think this should really be done through more traders rather than more direct crate options, as this makes QM more dynamic (they have to keep an eye out for a particular trader). That said, some basic supplies could definitely be added:

Crate Name: Anesthetic Crate
Crate Cost: 2,000
Crate Contents: sleeping gas tanks x2, morphine bottle (30u) x2, syringe box, medical mask x4
Misc/Notes: This, combined with the one below, replace the existing "Medical Reservoir Crate". Medbay cardlocked.

Crate Name: Medical Reagents Crate
Crate Cost: 1,500
Crate Contents: medical reservoir beakers x4, mannitol bottle (50u), mutadone bottle (50u), blood IV drip (250u) x2, empty IV drip box
Misc/Notes: This, combined with the one above, replace the existing "Medical Reservoir Crate". Medbay cardlocked.

Crate Name: Prosthetics Crate
Crate Cost: 2,000
Crate Contents: random cyborg limbs (light, standard, and either treads or sturdy) x4 pairs, random cybereyes (meson, ProDoc, spectroscopic, standard) x4, cyberheart x1
Misc/Notes:

Crate Name: Patient Compliance Crate
Crate Cost: 2,500
Crate Contents: straitjacket x1, blindfold x1, muzzle x1, syringe (haloperidol) x1
Misc/Notes: Medbay cardlocked

Crate Name: NanoTransen Approved Cyborg
Crate Cost: 10,000
Crate Contents: Light cyborg, including brain.
Misc/Notes: Selected from dead players (dead players get a notice and get 30 seconds to type "playcyborg" and type their desired cyborg name in the textbox that comes up). Effectively a respawn, but as a cyborg. Previous victory conditions are removed (e.g. if previously an antag, now just a regular cyborg). More coding, but might be fun. Probably worthy of its own thread for discussion, as I can see problems with it.

Crate Name: NanoTransen Identity Kit
Crate Cost: 1,500
Crate Contents: blank ID card box x1, blank PDA box x1, access implant box x1
Misc/Notes: All obviously blank and require inserting into an access terminal as normal to get actual access. Alternatively, up the cost to 2,500 and have one of the IDs start with one of maintenance, kitchen, bar, or bridge access (I forget how access works, but should be as per the VIP role's bridge access).

Make one of the traders sell donuts.

Crate Name: Poster Crate
Crate Cost: 100
Crate Contents: x10 random posters
Misc/Notes: Because sometimes you want one on your wall.

Crate Name: Comms Dish Blueprint
Crate Cost: ???
Crate Contents: x1 comms dish blueprint ready for feeding into a reverse-engineering fab
Misc/Notes: Because sometimes some asshole destroys EVERY SINGLE ONE KNOWN TO MAN.

Crate Name: Clowning Supplies Crate
Crate Cost: ???
Crate Contents: x1 heliumtank, x2 cream pies, x2 balloon boxes
Misc/Notes: Because you can't get heliumtanks anywhere else.

Can I pseudo-hijack this for new traders, too?

Trader Name: Red Quadrangle
Buys: syringes filled with:
  • Cryoxadone
  • Pentetic Acid
  • Haloperidol
  • Atropine
  • Other medium-high complexity medchems
Sells: various medchems/precursors, in syringe/autoinjector/pill/patch form

Crate Name: Space China Takeout
Crate Cost: 200 (~ish)
Crate Contents: 5 Chinese Takeout Food Boxes, 2 Fortune Cookies (with a Chinese Zoldorf fortune)
Misc/Notes: Disclaimer: We are not responsible for any tragedies resulting from Chinese Zoldorf ™ fortunes.
This could probably help out when Destiny enables motives and there's no chef around and no one really feels like manning the kitchen.

I like this. This should be expanded into a couple of take out restaurants with their own menu of items.

In the interest of more food for our greedy mouths, could we make there be take-out boxes for dishes that don't typically come in packages? Like, I want a mail-order Sperghetti platter, but I'm not gonna get a crate with a plate of noodles sitting in it on fragile porcelain. That's just silly.

Speaking of mail-order Sperghetti.

Crate Name: Deescount Den's Eetaleean Fud
Crate Cost: ???
Crate Contents: 4 plates Sperghetti, 2 meatballs on the side, 1 bottle of wine, 1 baguette or similar bread item, mozzerella (if that's a thing)
Crate Notes: Why bother going out for a fancy dinner when you can bring one directly to your seedy-ass cafeteria? Enjoy your authentic(?) meal on the go, all for a low low price.

I like this idea a lot as well, others have added on so imo its good because many of the less common food item/combination sprites would be seen around the station and it sounds fun. For example: including new british themed cookies/muffins/etc onto some Discount Dan's Pastry Services take-out.
