Shaking soda bottles
#1
You would be able to shake bottles of soda or cans of space cola by clicking on them in hand, and then when someone tries to drink it the soda will splash all over them and empty the whole thing. Shaking a bottle that is already shaken would cause it to blow up, embedding plastic shrapnel in you. You could also add a barman traitor item that is a space cola can that is always shaken and filled with extremely hot chlorine triflouride, meaning anyone who tries to drink it or shake it will be set on fire.

The Traitor Item part is not needed. You could just empty a can, fill it with ClF3, shake it one and place it down. I also think throwing it should shake it, for that accidental blow up.

Wouldn't the throwing thing just give literally every staff assistant as many grenades as they could possibly want?

No because you have to actively shake the can a second time to cause it to explode.  only fools would do this.

Well, if the can is shaken when thrown then it acts like a grenade that detonates on contact. You shake it once to arm it, then once you throw it again and it hits something, kaboom.

Easily avoided by only letting throwing get a can to the first stage of shaking, so throwing a shaken can does nothing.

Or have it work similar to glass. Get hit by plastic or aluminum shards and get a little soaked.

Eh, just have it not explode violently? Not everything on the station needs to kill you. (Though maybe champagne bottles should shoot a cork?)

How about, instead, each shake makes foam which is released upon drinking it?

This is goonstation... Literally anything can, and probably at some point in time, will, kill you.

Everything can and will kill YOU.

The point I think people are trying to make is that if YOU make the mistake or do it on purpose to yourself for fun it is fine but giving people free foam grenades or whatever to use on other people is not fine. I think throwing glasses work because they are limited to touch chemicals and you need to actually have accuracy.

Also wouldn't opening the can to put whatever death fire chem you want into it release all the carbonation?

The solution is already laid out for us; animated, even.

So in that case, we need a pop-rocks snack that you can also get from the vending machine.

I wouldn't put it in the vending machine: that means there's a ready-to-go grenade kit in every single vending machine.

Put a limited number of pop-rocks snacks in some remote or restricted areas of the station, like in the research lounge or behind the HoS desk or something, and possibly miners can dig up more candy in their boxes of booze or some such.
