I found out the hard way that if you use an activator for a spliced gene the splice doesn't actually do anything. Self biomass manipulation was the one that it happened to me with.
Using spliced genes as activators doesn't use the splices.

This kind of makes since. I mean activators are only supposed to activate a person's own latent genes. They don't inject new genes into people.
On the other hand, it'd be really cool if we could actually use dna splicing with activators.

Yeah, I mean, I get that might be why it happens, but it would definitely be cooler to be able to use spliced gene activators and have the effect be the same as an injector if you've already got the gene.
It's also incredibly unpleasant thinking you're gonna phase shift and just having all your flesh melt off. |
