Put some kind of phase shift protection for the AI
#1
Currently it is way too easy for the wizard to just phase shift into the AI core and beat the AI to death/spawn a golem on it's face, I think killing the AI should take a little more effort from a wizard.

its also absolute child's play for a wizard to subvert it by simply standing inside walls to pick up and use the modules

most other people need at least a slight amount of forethought or prep work to fuck with the ai, even if it is something as small as "swipe your card to turn off the turrets"

this might be addressed by changing the layouts of the upload and core rooms a little, and giving the ai core a closet-like or crate-like protective shell it could hide in from golems

The wizard has literally everyone rallied against him and only 4 spells to take them on with. With all the nerfs to his offensive capabilities, please just leave this one alone. Subverting the ai isn't even that useful most rounds, anyways.

I can't really see this happening without massively redesigning both the AI chamber and the wizard, to be honest.

Phase shifting onto walls needs to no longer be a thing IMO

going inside walls is a perfectly acceptable magic power. the ai chambers just need a little improving to discourage effortlessly snuffing/subverting it.

only one square would really need to be made phase-proof, the one that the ai itself sits on. then the stupid useless grilles and windows can be removed and replaced with 4 thin plasma glass windows that surround only the ai. the blast doors can stay. voila the ai's bodily security is now actually relevant because the windows and grilles are gone and not blocking the stun bolts anymore

"but misto" you say "4 weeny plasma glass windows wont protect the poor ai from a fireball" thats why the blast doors are still there. you hear a wizard? you shut your blast doors, then he cant fireball you without phasing his ass into the blast doors and probably fireballing himself at point blank range, while you could drop the blast doors at any moment and get him shot. i have calculated this to be at least a billion percent more defensible than the current useless piece of shit grilles and windows that do nothing but block your own stun shots

the upload chamber just below can be improved by
1. move the computers and the table that holds the modules away from the walls to give the turrets relevant fields of fire

2. at least 1 more turret, in the center preferably.

you may need to make the upload room bigger to accomodate all this. are you afraid of running out of room? its on the outer edge of the station. are you afraid of it blocking the crate conveyor belt shooter things? then move them farther north a bit to make room.

if its not possible to make the ais one square it sits on phase-proof then uhhh i guess hes fucked? maybe it could have a little stun-glove or stun baton like power as a last desperate hail mary? it doesnt have fucking legs so its not like it would be walking around stunning people

I like this. Perfectly reasonable.

You could also replace the grilles that are all around the AI upload/chamber with phase-shift disrupting laser emitters.
Can't pass through them while phase-shifting, trying to do so ends the phase-shift prematurely, occasioning some brute/brain damage and/or stunning from being suddenly space-shredded (could also depend on some setting, with a default stun+some brute damage, and another emergency setting with more brute damage and brain damage involving spilled blood, the same way turrets have different settings), and making a decent amount of noise alerting nearby people and the AI of the failed intrusion.

A problem, there would still be an easy way to enter from ender the upload, unless the disrupters can be mounted inside the walls.

Have some way to disable the disrupters though.

Doesn't make much sense if teleportation inside the AI upload isn't forbidden.

This is what I was thinking, just something where it will just stop the wizard from phase shifting through all of the AI's defenses and making the AI completely defenseless against wizards.
