We can use glass shards as a stand in for scalpels, chainsaws for normal saws, it makes perfect sense to allow us to become more like back-ally surgeons by using a normal stapler.

The red staplers found in the office supply lockers are still useable, they are actually just resprited staple guns (they still have the desc saying they're medical staplers)

Couple this with a way of replacing blood and hobo-operating theater could become fully operational and allow for neat black-market gimmicks. Can't really think of anything though. (Robust soda? or a new soda in the vending machines?)

Only problem from that point on-wards would be getting organs, though synth-plants could help with that, and artifact organs/hearts if that idea ever gets implemented.
