The official "post your SS13 gfycats" competition
#1
Hello, It's Supernorn here!

Longtime non-poster on the forums, and spriter of multiple 2D spaceman games.

I'm reworking the official http://www.spacestation13.com website and I need to fill the media page and other sections with some interesting content. As i'm too busy making another spaceman game right now, I need you to help me out by making some content instead. Here are the rules:

1) These will be used to present Space Station 13 to people that likely have never played before, so it should be clear what's happening. Keep that in mind.
2) There's no need to include the entire chat window, the game screen should be enough.
3) Gyfcats have to not be crazy huge in filesize.
4) You can enter as many times as you like.

The winners might get something special, I haven't figured out what yet.

What do you mean by another spaceman game? Are you planning on remaking Space Station 13 or a different game?

No I work on Starbound. I'm all SS13 remake'd out for a while.

That is cool, and i'm glad he likes it.

I asked around and it turns out that loads of you have no idea what gfycat is. This is gfycat: http://gfycat.com/

It's a site that makes html5 videos . This has several benefits over regular .GIF image format, the massive reduction in file size being the biggest one. All you have to do is go to the website and you can convert videos or even regular old existing gifs.

After some severe bullying from coders on irc it turns out that to embed gfycats on these forums you have to put them in tags. You also have to right click on it and copy the video location or else everyone will laugh at you, like they did to me frown

Imgur also has gifv, which is basically just gif files being converted into html5 video mpeg or webm files. I suppose it's probably easier to download gfycat files though, since imgur is pretending to have a whole new format whereas gfycat can just direct link webm files.
