Since traits were added, more people will probably opt to go partially blind for some benefit. Ergo it shouldn't be such a hassle to find prescription glasses in medbay.
If you can print those total blindness implant goggles in that medbay manufacturer why can't we print prescription glasses too? After all it's just metal and glass.

While I do like the Scooby Doo-esque nature of losing your only pair of glasses, I think that this would be a pretty useful addition. Maybe there could be a few styles of glasses too. I'm pretty sure some of the spriters could have some fun with that (ex. FUTURE Goggles, heart-rim glasses, Cylon Visor, Victorian bifocals, etc.) That way people can be a little creative with their eyewear and have easy access to replacements via medical manufacturers!

Prescription shades of varying styles could also be fun.

Also maybe you could throw in craftable glasses too.
Rods + lens from workbench = monocle.
Lens + lens = pair of lenses
pair of lenses + rods = glasses.
Use materials science and other things to get lense tinting, for things like homemade sunglasses (which vary in effectiveness) and custom tints like pink or green.

Gold-framed miraculum lenses.
