Being able to revive from being gibbed.
#1
involves scooping up gibs and doing lots of complicated, not easy and time consuming stuff, in order to recreate a human.
#2
The point of gibbing people is to make absolutely, positively certain that they are not revived. Introducing something like this would basically make gibbing people to dispose of them absolutely pointless.
#3
Fighting the chef for the constituent gibs necessary to fashion and fix up a Frankenstein's Monster in the Robotics Lab?

get in not go out

nah it just means you have to clean the gibs up wink
#5
Frankenstein style sounds cool. maybe with impaired speech and slowed down?
#6
it wouldn't ruin gameplay if it was hard to do. it'd actually create another element of fun. adding the need for traitors to clean up gibs is more fun.

Also, this sounds like it would be an absolute bitch and a half, coding-wise, since each individual piece of gibs would have to be tagged with the specific person that created them, and given how many non-player things create gibs (synthflesh, meat cubes, zombies, etc.), this would be hellish. Also, the procedures for revival would have to balance out being hard enough to not render gibbing pointless with being easy enough to be feasible, as well as having the resultant player not something frustrating enough to make the revived player immediately suicide.

Don't get me wrong, this is a really, really cool idea. I'm just worried for how plausible it'll be and how well it'll balance out with the rest of the game mechanics.

I thought they were already tagged with the person's unique DNA for detective stuff?
#9
some servers have it where you can clone people by growing them as plants. maybe something similar?
#10
ooh it'd also mean you could possibly revive ill looking fellow
#11
Gibbed is GIBBED, you are done, go play something else. You can already get backed up in the cloner if you're worried.

No. Terrible idea.

but this game is all about defying convention. so many possibilities. there are two kinds of ss13 players, the destroyers and the creators. I'm just suggesting that the creators have a comeback to the destroyers ultimate weapon.

Grab the spare parts from the freezer in the morgue, add two cups of fresh gibs, 10u of strange reagent, a cyberheart, and three pieces of monkeymeat, bake 15sec on low, and create... FRANKENMEAT

Gibbed is final, sorry but I say no for playstyle reasons.

It wouldn't be easy or a commonly done thing, you think most people are usually going to go through all that effort? when they barely ever go through the effort of cloning ungibbed corpses? it just creates possibility. possibilities are what makes this game great. you want bear arms you get bear arms. you want to turn the AI into a monkey? yeah you can do that. you want to ingest this chemical and walk around space? you get the idea. besides if you want final, clean the gibs up!
