Specialist PDA for Roboticists - Robotics control and more
#1
Roboticists lost their ability to monitor their cyborgs after the robotics control board was removed from tech storage. It's understandable that it had to go since it was easily accessible and can mass murder cyborgs, but it was still a blow to roboticists.

I'd like to see a robotics PDA cart take its place. A specialist cart for monitoring and possibly interacting with borgs without dragging them to a charging station.

Must haves:

*List of active cyborgs. This could require swiping them with the PDA before they show up on the list first, that'd let traitors track their syndiborgs.
*Damage overview and power levels for each cyborg.

Things that would be useful:

*Show what module, battery and upgrades each cyborg has equipped. This could also require a swipe and could work like the health scanner readout.
*Show missing limbs.
*Show what area of the station each cyborg is in. E.g. Engineering. (GPS coordinates would be too powerful and could ruin a cyborgs fun.)
*Ping tool that makes the target cyborg beep-bop to track it down by sound. Would be great if one is lost in space, for telescience missions or for general annoyance.
*Ability to change a cyborg's name by swiping the PDA on them.
*Ability to change a robot's name by swiping the PDA on them. This would be super cool since people rarely make robots step by step anymore.

The way I see it, you could either make the PDA melee-based like the genetics one, where all the fun stuff requires a scan first. Or you have the PDA display everything without formality. In either case, it would be a quality of life improvement for robotics. It'd give them a thing to occupy themselves with once they've spent all their metal on frames and buttbots, and it'd be great for expeditions and general coordination.

I agree with everything but that. A cyborg's name is sacred to them.

Good point, and most cyborgs only need to be renamed once if at all. It's completely unnecessary to be able to do it on the fly.
