Curing nanite-infection

Has anyone managed to successfully cure themselves lately? I've been infected and received numerous shocks with no nanites left in my bloodstream, and still been converted. Is there a minimum power level needed or is it just broken?

Okay I was able to get an infection in Shitty Bill cured after feeding him a bite of a roburger. It took 4 stuns from a stun rod. I guess it is just really really low chance random.
