Money Money Moneyyy... MONEY

I've amassed alot of ideas when it comes to money. Money, amongst other things, is what separates from other servers, I think we need MORE use for money. In no particular order here's money ideas that could be easily implemented given a little time.

Let NPC traders accept $$$
They only accept ID's at the moment. It'd be rad if you could give them cash as well. Make use of those crates of cash people tend to find.

Deposit $$$
Afaik, you can withdraw cash, but you can't deposit it. Give that an option on ATM's. Would also make use of estranged $$$

Set Bail
On the timer at the genpop, it'd be neat if there was a "set bail" figure too. Prisoners could (between them if there's several) slot in money to get out instantly.

Let Manufacturers run off money as well as power
The manufacturers in robotics could run off the Research Budget. Now genetics and robotics hate each other even more (this can only be good). You could introduce a research scheme similar to the old artlab, but instead of giving new information, the research scheme allows you to produce robotic items cheaper as you progress, maybe even unlocking robotic upgrades that otherwise would be untouched (such as teleport) for a price.
The QM works off the same principle, but with the QM budget.
The other manufacturers require cash to be slotted in.

Make trader events happen far far FAR more often
Currently traders are announced via centcom, they arrive, and then depart. Instead remove the announcement, have them CONSTANTLY there, have them there 2 at a time. They trader himself would announce that he's leaving, and he would almost (3-5 minutes) be instantly replaced with a new trader. There is absolutely no cons with this, it would mean someone who wants to buy some weird items, could hang around here (THE HOP COMES TO MIND) and sell them on at the market for an inflated price. Or he could see it on to traders, and make the station $$$$$$

Roulette
Lets say I was to sprite a Roulette table. How would that be like to code? It would literally just spit out random variables (black 17, red 32) and then whoever places a phat stack of cash gets it right wins all the money on the table, and he can withdraw the cash, instantly in his hand.

That's all the ideas I have. If anything, I wish the trader event idea to happen the most.

You can deposit cash. If you're logged in to the ATM with your card, you just use the cash on the machine to deposit it.

Have a blueprint for an airlock that requires a toll start in tech storage. Watch mechanics be rich and then dead. Or allow the captain to add tolls to main hallway airlocks to stave off payroll cancellation.

yes please. its very hard to run obnoxious toll collector gimmicks currently.

Or just have a toggle able wire within the door that starts off by default, but can be hacked to be on. Once on it would allow the next person who uses their ID on the door to dictate how much will be deducted, and to which account it will flow to (probably should have an upper limit though). I mean, doors already have ID scanners, so it would make sense that they could scan someone's ID and move funds from it, no real need for an entirely new door type. Resetting could be done by turning the wire on and off again, and re-scanning the ID. Love this idea.

Teh one thing i feel is missing the most from cold hard cash is the ability to split money, i don't know if it exists or not but i have no idea, if at all possible, how to do it.

We need MORE gambling!

-Video poker in the bar.

-A Texas Holduem app for the PDA. Allowing players to create/join matches.

-Off track betting! Complete with stats and silly space horse names!(Maybe even allow player to buy, name, and race their own space horse?)

We also need more stuff to buy

-Space Stocks that change randomly throughout the round

-Expensive miniture vehicles. Like go-kart/clown car sized Cobras.

-Old-fanshioned cap/cork guns

-stupid hats

All of these would make money VERY useful.

We should just do what I suggested a long time ago and turn the game room into a mini-casino with blackjack, Texas holdem, slots and all that cool jazz. Maybe even have a dealer job!

Space stocks sounds like a neat idea. Maybe somehow have the crew able to influence the stocks...

ATM Component: Insert money, sends signal.

You could set up toll booth doors, setup nonfree teleporters, etc. Also you could build a device that takes the amount of money you inserted and uses the speaker component to call out how much money was donated.'

There should be some way for you to send money to somebodies PDA, so you could hold a hostage for ransom and have them remotely give it to your account
