Make wraiths passively disrupt the station with their presence
#1
Pulling this from a conversation that took place on the discord, and this is a better environment to discuss this sorta stuff.

The problem is that there aren't many ways to find out if the wraith is near you until it starts actively doing things. It was proposed to make wraiths just passively leave ectoplasm around, flicker lights and things like that.

Currently some ideas to ponder are:

-leaves ectoplasm around
-turns off/flickers lights
-blows out candles
-minor radio interference

Please use this thread to discuss any other ideas for this!

Wraiths should passively lower the temperature of any room they are in into shiver range, and occasionally make nearby players *shudder

The more bodies consumed, the more intense the passive effects should become.

Perhaps the wraith minor abilities (sap apc, break lights, mass pda alert etc) should automatically trigger every X seconds, at random, with X getting lower as the wraith consumes corpses.

Take it from games like Phasmophobia.
Giving hints where a wraith or ghost might be is fun.

So I do approve this.

I'm a big fan of lowering the temperature of whatever room the Wraith is in (can't wait for Wraiths to ruin the hellburn the engineers have going) and causing shivering/shuddering. It's a nice, passive effect to let people know the Wraith is nearby and it lines up with common tropes we see about evil spirits. Because cold can also cause you to slowdown, it helps build tension between crew and the Wraith while not being so detrimental that it doesn't leave room for less hostile RP if the things are rolling that way.

Quick concerns about this are effects on air pressure across the station, and potentially how it would start to lightly "depressurize" the station by a Wraith just passively wandering around. So let me present an alternative:

Wraiths will lower the body temperature of anyone within line of sight for the Wraith (entirely prevented by having any units of holy water in you). The stronger the wraith, the more powerful this effect becomes. Ideally, the effect is so weak, you barely notice it if no souls have been consumed, but if the Wraith has adopted a form and has 10+ souls, the effect is immediately noticeable. It is strong enough to give you the cold status effect, causing slowdowns and (iirc) stamina penalties.
