Animated Wraith Objects Shouldn't Be Permanent
#1
There is a bit of discussion about wraiths, and I think something that could help is making living objects from wraiths have a longevity.

I think this would be good as on RP, it would help prevent instances where the toolbox you animated ages ago to kill one monkey got loose and beat a staffie to death in maints, which cant really be escalated. And for general balance so you can't just have a swarm of animated objects floating around at all times.

Thoughts?

(i checked the code and im pretty sure this isnt a thing but correct me if im wrong)

One of the more effective and favourite tricks of the wraith is animating rooms to make an ambush, locations like the monkey pen or Armoury are prime choices, operating theatre or the morgue are also equally fun choices to shake up the medbay department. While these are effective tactics they all take time even if you have 2 polterghesits and are working together in a co-ordinated effort (which isn't always the case). You can also do some funny silly things in mass which might take someone all shift to notice, like animating all the kitchens food and bar drinks or the AI law modules.

Its a feature that I feel should remain as is. In terms of escelation once a wraith starts making its moves such as turning off lights, whispering to people, desecrating/consuming corpses most people know its a wraith round and what to expect with that.

I do think animated objects are pretty strong. There could be some basic ai to prevent them clumping up into a murder death ball, at least.

Yea I do think these things on RP atleast need some down time.
It's already really annoying dealing with a wraith and RPing.... now if the wraith and polters spam living object constantly.. you are 80% of the time beating up living stuff, 20% saying 1 sentence before a new one spawns.

What I think it also needs is the fact living objects are always KILLING. I want objects to disrupt or be annoying or do other scary stuff.
Just like soulsteel players can do things too like lockers locking players within them and carry them around. That kind stuff is also fun.
So like the fire extinguisher coming to life and just spray everywhere before escalating to kill.

I think maybe them blocking each other would be enough. One after another is handle-able. Having 6 in a murderball is a bit much.
