So recently people in the RP channel have been talking about the fact that dead drops are, more often then not, very weak and can spawn in very risky positions. Unless you're lucky you have to break and enter to get to the APC and can very easily be spotted/caught trying to get some equipment, only for the equipment to be virtually useless and mostly include things you can easily get around the station.
It can be very daunting for a fair number of players to be a antagonist already, it's even more daunting when there's only 30 minutes left on the clock. And many times as security I hear the event for a sleeper agent and a part of me goes "Oh, there's now a sleeper agent around, they'll probably be very easy to deal with"
There's a ton of damage you can do to the station without antag gear if you have the know how, time and experience to do it. But antagonists get advantages for a reason, and still often fail to security with them! It's hard to tell a motivating story when the best the syndicate could spare me is a flash cell. It's hard to feel threatened when the biggest threat a sleeper agent can pull is a scrap spear because their dead-drop is in the AI core and security is on high alert after executing a highly dangerous antag previously.
They don't need to be anything incredibly powerful, but I think they would be a lot more interesting on both sides if the dead drops had some form of weapon or useful tool as a reward for taking the risk to pick it up.
Or at least swap the omnitool you get for the syndicate omnitool which you can hide in your clothing, because it's confusing that it's the other kind for some reason
