hi, im snoid. only posting this in admin feedback because id like any admin decisions on this to be public and easily accessible. not actually a real complaint, just a misunderstanding that id like sorted out.
between different admins, i get different responses on the "are monkeys human" situation in regards to ai laws. for a while it was my understanding that NPC monkeys were not human, but player monkeys were. until i was doing my usual rounds as borg of tossing every npc monkey into space on cog 1 specifically. one time, when Leah was online and she saw me do that, she did admin PM me and say those monkeys were legally human. so i stopped doing that and figured that if an admin told me that then its def true.
but then also other players have told me admins have told THEM different answers. that no monkeys are human. this happened in a round where i was being told to kill monkeys but i cited law 1 nuh uh. multiple players (2) ahelped about it and asked, and they told me the response they got was that NO MONKEYS are human.
to make matters worse,
https://wiki.ss13.co/Human is a link that you can click. it says no monkeys are human. so what the fuck.
can u guys please make a final decision on whether monkeys are human or not so i dont have to stress about breaking my laws

Player monkeys are human, NPC monkeys are not. But similar to how a borg shouldn't go around busting up the station on standard laws, you shouldn't go around just killing NPC monkeys on a whim. They're property of nanotrasen.
Edit: wait wait, maybe I'm wrong. Well a bunch of people are yelling at me for saying that so ignore me for now. I'll get back to you.
Edit #2: Okay, APPARENTLY, no monkeys are human for purposes of the laws, but you can't go around killing player-monkeys because of the anti-grief rules. And that's it.

Monkeys are not human, have never been human, will never be human. It doesn't matter whether they're a player or not.
The time I PMed you, you were killing monkeys that had been turned human by genetics, therefore breaking your laws by harming a human.
The reason there's confusion over that is that we used to say NPCs aren't human, regardless of species. But that was dumb and meta and we don't do that anymore, see
