Higher Tech Explosives
#1
So y'know the explosive vests
or just explosives in general

all i have though about so far is instead of only having a choice of Prox, Timer, Remote options to blow explosives
what about using Pressure Pads and Headsets

Pressure Pads:
If the explosive is thrown a certain distance, dropped, impacted by force or if it were on a vest and the wearer falls over, it will cause it to explode
eg: if you created a hostage situation, you can give yourself distance and throw something at the wearer to detonate it, thus giving you more controlling power in that situation, or at the exit shuttle, you could put yourself onboard and slide into a seat, dont buckle yourself in and wait for the ship to fly off, knocking you over and blowing a hole in it

Headsets
This is dependant on what sector headset it is
This can be detonated when the microphone is turned on on the headset, and a specific word or phrase it typed in, so when a person in range of the explosive says something or if it were said over the radio depending on what channels the headset has access to, it will detonate
if you have microphone only active, it will make it a proximity speech
if you have microphone and audio active, it will make it prox and radio
eg: if you created a hostage situation, you can give yourself way more distance and more control over a situation, in normal terms if you used a remote signalling device, if you are tased or such else, you will drop it and lose the situation immediately, but if you get knocked over, as long as your speech is too disorientated, you can say the trigger phrase over the radio or if you had it on you, to blow it up
or another example, placing bombs inside objects or bodies, so when security or someone else say over the radio about a "dead" body being somewhere, it will detonate it.

Theoretically, you can do the headset one with mechcomp.

But either way, i kinda like these ideas. Then again, pipebombs and all grenade assemblies are in dire need of refactoring, so dunno if peopke are willing to work woth the old code to get the stuff in.

Your ideas are funny. Thanks for sharing.

Personally love the idea of speech-check explosives. That could be a great way to rig a situation so they don't say your name, or create a situation that causes them to say a word, such as rigging it to "capybara" and then bringing the capybara over.
