give engie space suits some better rad protection 🙏
#1
its very painful working on the singulo then having to trek down to medbay for some potassium iodide and having a borg, staffie or even an engie come in and mess with the singulo or potentially loose it whilst you are away. The radiation effect worsens as you add more singulos into the equation to the point where 3-4 singulos close to each other will irradiate you to the point of constant stuns. Some better radiation resistance would be nice instead of having to rely on mining for some indy suits before doing funny work on the singulo. Although this is probably only an issue for a small group of engineers it would be nice to not have to pick between burning to death from space or burning to death from rads and would also let engineering do a little more experimentation on the singulo instead of just going for a bigulo every round.

The reason for this is... most rad def has been nerfed especially RAD IMMUNITY.
Roaches used to be 100% immune to rad, now it's only 93.333333339%
Add abit more and you are immune.
The reason for this is simple.
"The nuclear reactor on NADIR"

I talked about how roach folk could just clown around with it freely without it effecting them no matter the rad power.
So essentially it would make roaches the best engineers for that engine as they could just increase rads by so much.. that they won't hear complaints till someone from the outside screams at Engineering going: "TOO MUCH RADS OUTSIDE THE ENGINE ROOM! TURN IT OFF!"

I think this also trickled down to the rad suits. But I do agree.... this is just annoying. If this keeps up just add a potasium dispenser in engineering for those places.

If you are wearing a space suit near a singularity, you're doing it wrong.

That's what the rad suit is for. And if you -really- have to do stunts with multiple singularities and extended work on them, get industrial armor or a rad resist mutation.

Suits are specialized for a reason.

It felt switching between rad and space suit. If it's space suit.. yea you are right. Rad suit? It needs to be fixed.

Normally, radsuits protect you enough that this is not too big of a problem. You get very slightly radiated with extrenly strong radiation sources, but it's often barely noticeable.

Personally, I think it's silly that a rad suit would not fully protect you from radiation. Maybe if it's faulty, or some common variant. But people that work with radiation should be able to safely do so, doesn't make much sense otherwise.

Manually operating multiple singularities can be pain but i think at this point it is basically cost/benefit ratio for operating them, game asks you to sacrifice something for your large gimmick. But little more rad protection is appreciated as long as it doesnt make mining space suit obsolete
