It would provide an easier alternative to hooking up gen arts as cargo wouldn't have to spend money on a furnace kit and it would allow engineers to reliably setup gen arts outside the station if cargo has no budget.

I thought they were mechscannable. If they aren't scannable, that should be changed. It just makes sense.

On that sidenote, i found solar arrays to be non-scanable as well. Changing that would be a great opportunity for full powered outposts out on the asteroid field. Although i suppose on classic the main problem would be time to pull that off.

If setting up a powered solar station takes time, I see no reason not to allow this at all.
