Directing Pistol
#1
I was reading Robert Silverberg's "Sunrise on Mercury" when it mentioned a tool that would fit well ingame.
It was a directionary pistol that would shoot a bullet out to send the user back.
I feel this would be good so that people lost in space wouldn't have to keep throwing shit and then losing it afterwards.
Should deal minor brute damage as it not meant to be used as a weapon.

jetpacks already exist

Yes but jetpacks can't be stored in emergency toolboxes

Unfortunately fire extinguishers can and already do a better job frown

The average spaceman wouldn't be carrying around a fire extinguisher anyways.

It's a super neat thing, but it's a little unneeded since we can just use fire extinguishers/jetpacks/stuff.

irl though that would be sick as hell.

You meet assistants who aren't wandering around soaked in blood and waving fire extinguishers?

Just because YOU don't take a fire extinguisher doesn't mean other people don't.

What about a miniture fire extinguisher? Looks like an emergency oxygentank, only has two squirts, but can fit inside almost any container. Every emergency toolbox starts off with one, and there's a random chance that you spawn with one, much like the emergency oxygentank. Not only would it be useful on space adventures, as pocketable propulsion, but it also makes it a lot easier to find a quick means to put out fire, and you could use them to make rocketshoes that spray a reagent behind you as you fly!

IT'D BE COOL if all kinetic weapons fired in space behaved this way, but energy weapons didn't (since theres no recoil!!! gun science(????????(??(video games)?)))

Yes so that telescientists aren't as defenseless against the horrors of space. Not remove all the challenge but remove some challenge

Cue someone trying to use the RPG to rocket jump around in space.

But RPGs are designed to have no recoil.

rocket jumping is using the blast from the bomb part to blow yourself backwards
