new chngeling power
#1
Changelings should be able to selfgib, and regenerate after a few minutes from a random pile of gibs. I got the idea from cogwerks selfgibbing over and over and it would be hilarious if a changeling could convince the crew that he got admingibbed to throw them off the scent.

I wouldn't really mind this if it costs an insane amount of dna points. I also don't see much use of this since it'll only be useful the first week it's added, after that everyone would always collect the gibs in a locker and weld it.

I might be wrong....but this was -never- something that changelings could do in the movie "The Thing", and it seems pretty dumb.

I told you it was something cogs did. There's no reason the changelings have to be 1:1 with a movie no one watched.

My second point still stands that it seems pretty useless and shit, and that movie was great fuck you.

Don't project your poor movie tastes on other people. crossarms

It really seems like changelings don't have a reliable method of coming back from the dead. The headspider is worse than useless, because when it pops out, they not only know you're dead for real, they have more than enough time to run back to medbay to get it cut out.

If we're looking for a new power, what if we change the headspider into a massive spore release, it can act like what happens when you mix sarin or cyanide, only with a larger radius depending on how much DNA you've accumulated. If there is more than one person in the range, it chooses one at random, and after a certain interval with very little to no warning, the changeling takes them over, losing all their hard earned DNA in the process.

Alternatively, we can also give changelings the ability to regenerate from a pile of gibs, so they can come back to the station naked and angry after getting sent through disposals. Again, at the cost of all their DNA.

I agree, we need a more reliable way of coming back. the head spider is pretty much useless.

I feel like if we were able to -control- the headspider...that'd be best. That way it wasn't quite so damn retarded.

That's something I've wondered for ages. Why can't we control the headspider? What's the point of it being NPC?

All the changelings limbs should detach upon death and start beating everyone, alongside the headspider.

The detached butt bashes into Scrublord McGee.
I support this idea.

I mean...it'd remove having the problems with it hopping in corpses, it'd make it so it doesn't just -ignore- living people, and maybe if it were able to crawl into the vents or through disposals, it'd make for an interesting twist. "SHIT SHIT IT'S HEADSPIDER WENT INTO THE VENT, GET AWAY FROM VENTS!" "OH GOD GENETI- urk!"

Implement one of Cogs's favorite gimmicks and make it so surgical removal of the headspider means it jumps back out still alive and kicking and infects anyone dumb enough to be nearby. It leads to giant scrambling chains of people getting infected, operated on, and then their surgeon gets jumped in a never-ending chain until someone kills the headspider or a medical cyborg steps in to do it.

it would probably be cool if taking the head spider out had a moderate chance to kill or severely injure the patient, kinda like removal of facehuggers in Alien.

Also, control of the headspider is a must, because your headspider doesn't know how to doge the hysterical captain's laser gun shots. also yes for going through vents, i think this should be a changeling power anyways, liquid form.

also, in " THE THING" you see alot of different shapes the "thing" takes, like creating a mouth in it's chest when a guy tries to do CPR or something.
