Murderbox has been v. good, yes. It's been a huge help with updating the Syndicate Items and related pages on the wiki. One thing that'd be nice is if there was like a ValuChimp for testing all the weapons and stuff. Infinite stock is probably too vulnerable to spamming;maybe put in a regular one and have the clean button refill it?

Having a button to spawn different mobs (or critters) is on the roadmap. They'd probably be like the clean button in that you could use them, then they'd go on cooldown for a while.

- Monkey (normal)
- Monkey (aggressive)
- Human mob (passive)
- Syndicate agent NPC (aggressive)

We'll see. Have to make sure that the current stuff isn't causing any problems in terms of server load.

Anyway:

New message in chat when you die. (The part about ghosting isn't shown when you get gibbed.)

I added new UI for the Plantmaster Mk3. It allows you to do more things and do them faster, and decreases the need to flood your chat box with analysis.

Botany also got a few little touches:

- The UV lamp is actually a lamp now.
- The UV lamp and botanical mister have a range of 2 tiles, instead of just one.
- Splicing seeds now keeps a mix of the name based on the DOMINANT/recessive plant ala "DOMIssive". This is under no uncertain terms a terrible idea and I cannot wait to see what kind of crimes you people make.
- The items produced from seeds will (try) to keep its name. This might not always work or might end up being weird/buggy so do let me know if you run into something weird.

As usual, feedback appreciated.

you can push 'y' as an ai to choose a channel to speak over. the title bar will also show the token you can use:
"Speaking on 133.7 - Command (:3c)"

also: the ai has a hud now! #woah

not visible: the apc button, which is hiding under another button in this screenshot. it's very shy but i coaxed it out for when i pushed it.

the "track" button opens the tracking list or cancels tracking. it shows the name of who you are tracking, as well as "off cameras" if they're out of camera range, instead of flooding your chat box.

the health and cell displays show your core health (surprise) and core charge. core charge is kinda pointless right now because it either goes down or up at 5 points per tick depending on if you're in an area with a (working) apc. an arrow will appear if it is discharging or charging to indicate, instead of "Trying to reestablish apc connection" in your chat every 5 seconds. again.

the other buttons mostly do what you expect; open the pda, deploy to a shell, show your laws, edit your radios, open the apc where your eye is.

the killswitch timer appears when killswitched and the little warning light flashes so you won't be caught by surprise if a billion things are going on. make sure to scream about this because people who killswitch ais are total shitheads.

--

other ai changes:
- ai damage overlays will still appear when the ai is dead. no more "it looks fine why isnt it rebooting". now you can see that it's still fucked up!
- examining the ai will also give damage hints even if dead. (previously, it would only while the ai was alive.)
- you can try to revive an ai by using a hand on HELP intent. if the AI has < 0 HP, you'll get a hint that it's still too damaged. otherwise, it'll try to revive the AI. you push the little restart button or whatever. this is a way to get ais back online without needing a law reset module! this also means that the laws probably won't reset.

feedback appreciated

can we differentiate btween burn and brute dmg for ai hud

You can get the damage readout by clicking the "Health" button:
"Health: 40% - Brute: 40 - Burn: 20"

There's some weird AI issues where it keeps "dying" over and over and the core vision is lost below 0% but death doesn't happen until -100, and once it does you KEEP dying, over and over. Needs looking into.

Anyway, new things:
- Centcom has a day/night cycle now. kitty face This is most notable in the early morning and evening. It's based on when the server is compiled, so it should update with most map changes.
- The Quantum Telescope was changed somewhat. It now properly uses hypotenuse distance instead of manhattan distance in all cases. Previously, it used the manhattan distance, and then used that to choose the radius of the circle it drew for the ping, which threw things way off. The randomness has also been adjusted significantly, so while the point isn't exactly on the edge of a circle, it's now much more consistently close:

The fact that you’re making a BYOND game do your bidding is absolutely unbelievable. Awesome to see

hey thread. been a while.

in no particular order.

- botany analyzer readouts are now a fancy chart in the chat window rather than plain text.
- pod hud has tooltips on the button that explain what they do. now you know what "return to station" actually does!
- microbomb implanters won't show the "your implanted microbomb will go off when you die" message to other players. turn your enemies into walking bombs
- ability buttons across the top left attempt to show the cost (if any) and cooldown on the abilities, and update regularly rather than never. they also become dim when you don't have the points needed, so you can tell if you can cast something w/o crosschecking the tooltip and "xx points" status line.
- this is also true for blobs which will probably appreciate it much more.
- (eventual plan: show the points on-screen.)

- sticky notes can be stuck anywhere and are a little different.
- canisters and air tanks have a visual bar meter for how full they are.
- title screen fades out and fades in when you spawn. ideally. needs some work still since it sometimes does that even if your body isn't ready.
- qm console had big ui changes.

- pathology numbers adjusted big time. lots of tweaks and cost changes to try to make it less of a random slog.

yep.

e:
- false walls now have a floor underlay, and will try to mimic the floor you build one on.
