Automatic Data Disk [Antag Item]
#1
Want to go on a murderous rampage but don't want the fun to end when you inevitably die? Purchase an automatic data disk. It functions nearly identical to the kind security officers get upon spawn, except for two changes:

1) The data cannot be deleted. All cloning data can be deleted, but with the disk, it will not allow you to delete the data. This prevents a sec member from getting rid of the data before you have a chance to die.

2) When you die (via any method), the cloning machine automatically starts cloning you. This makes it easier to continue the muderous fun. If someone was already in the cloning pod, they are kicked out, no matter how far they got in the cloning process.

Now, the automatic data disk is meant to be something cheap, as while it automatically clones you, you likely wont have any of your equipment nearby and can easily be rekilled. The disk only works once, and after you start being cloned, the data gets deleted. I would say it would be around 2 or 3 TC to get the automatic data disk.

So that's what those disks are for.

This doesn't seem like a bad idea, I'm willing to give it a shot, as long as the traitor can only purchase one.

You didn't know what those disks did?

I like this idea. It's like a traitor SoulGuard but not as good since you won't be able to just get all your gear back easily.

Maybe the disk is a one and done deal, getting burned out after use. Maybe up the cost and have it spit out a randomized new identity for you as well

idea: instead of kicking anyone currently being cloned out, you assume the identity of the person being cloned

Holy crap that's amazing. Perhaps 2 minutes afterwards a second copy of the same person is made so the player doesn't get kicked out of the round. Also the TC cost would have to go up a bit so that every traitor doesn't use it.

Perhaps the card would need to be first uploaded into the cloner, then it could be freely be disposed of as it is now useless.

This would have be be incredibly expensive, to the point that it disallows you from buying a cyalume or a katana as this kind of safety net is very powerful.

The disk would probably have charges on it too, maybe it burns and destroys your data after you get cloned? Having a guaranteed resurrection is really, really strong.

Right up until, since there's no body, the cloner runs out of biomatter and you get spat out as a broken, half-baked shell of a human being. v

I meant initially for it to have just one use. After you insert the data, the disk is useless. And it isnt a sure thing. Cloners are one of the most likely things to blow up.

That also brings up the interesting mix that a different traitor could blow up the cloner, making your disk investment worthless.

Comedy idea: a one-time-use, deployable respawn pod, like the geneticist traitor kit. Lights up like the mindslave cloner module, but only includes the cloning pod. Has enough biomatter for one go and takes the most recent data disk, and automatically starts if that person's health implant goes off.

- Auto-scans the first person to touch it after deploying
- Injects health implant as well
- Can be hijacked by using a disk on it, which will track that person instead
- Has only one use and will harmlessly collapse into various scraps afterwards

For added bonus, make it scannable by Mechanics (but cost a lot of materials). Do you put it somewhere secure but remote, and go through the trouble of fetching additional gear to get back up? Or do you put it somewhere a little less distant but risk being found out?
