General Manufactures, Vending Machines, Departmental Economics, and item availability
#1
This is a general idea for an overhaul of ingame economics as related to the way people get items in game.

First off, it relies on making General Manufacturers less prevalent and/or useful. Currently, you can get most common items from them, including everything you'd need to hack into an area to take more items. This is supplied freely provided enough materials are available.

I think, instead, the list of items these machines can produce should be reduced, with new vending machines being created that provide the items at practical costs.

These vending machines would be themed, with ones providing general tools, others mechanical work items, etc.

I think vending machines would best be placed in department areas whose work relates to the items they provide, essentially creating Department vending machines.

And since they would be departmentally themed, why not  have the money spent on items go into a pool that is distributed among the people of that department while also providing people with the ID's related to that department a discount on items?

This creates an economy linked around visiting different departments to purchase items
