Hi, just had a spy round and was rewarded a cloaker. However even when turned on people were still able to see me, as well as the overlay which indicates that I'm cloaked. Dr. Floorpills can attest to this as we had a discussion about it.
The only thing I can think of that might have affected this is that I had the Cloak of Darkness gene running at the same time - it might be because I wasn't in the dark, the game decided I was not invisible?

I can confirm seeing this, I swapped to various characters perspectives as a ghost and could see the cloaked character's sprite and the shimmer around from other players perspectives in the area.
When the cloaker was used by someone else, they turned invisible properly.

There was a round (round 61374) a while back where Flavia Iulla got a personal cloaker as a vampire (traitor pda found), the bug occured then as well, I assume because she was using her cloak of darkness.

this sounds like the inverse of the byond bug where things turn invisible
code idea stuff:
maybe returning in cloak of darkness
or maybe one is not converted to newStatus and is being overriden or bitflipped opposite
