Why the fuck not?

stattions with gas lines running through maint, yes please

This seems extremely abusable.

Yeah, but what in SS13 isn't?

The point is rather that you don't even need to hack to cause a gigantic plasma fire with pipes everywhere.

Actually, Kremlin's handy d/dx atmos code could be used to make emergency check valves that would mitigate the danger of dumping an entire circuit of plasma into maint if a pipe is punctured.
Also, feed pressure for appliances would be a few kpa, not engine pressure.

Even getting a little bit of plasma in the air and/or setting a little bit of the air on fire can cause incredible harm. Ambient heat can ignite chems (like weldercarts), roast anyone without internals, and make the whole area (and everything around it) unlivable while Atmos throws a temperature tantrum.

Might be a better idea to distribute the power-plasma in little safety-tanks through mail-ducts and belt-hell, to be plugged into appliances and localized canisters that pipe it all around their department.

I dunno, I really like the idea of gaslines. Could be a way of heating up areas that got cooled from space.

I think we could throw in a less volatile gas like propane through them, though

10/10

How about pipes that send something less horrid and more manageable, like liquid welding fuel or oil. a burst would cause a small flamable puddle, unless you override safeties in which case go wild here's a hallway full of oil.
