Remove the Radiated Status Icon
#1
In real life, radiation is so scary and deadly because it can't be physically felt or detected without equipment until it's far too late, and the same used to be true in-game. Now if you receive a dose of radiation, say from a sleepy pen filled with radium, it's immediately obvious that you're suffering from radiation poisoning. As handy as the status icons have been, for realism and balance reasons, the radiation one should be removed.

This seems like a pretty good idea, at least to test out. However, to compensate for this, if it's not already a thing then Toxins damage should make you feel sick, and if it's rising and especially when there's nasty shit in you, you should be horking your guts out (possibly literally depending on the poison!) and have plenty of text messages supporting it. Also radiation burns should cause you to experience quite a bit of pain, unless you have painkillers!

Seems to be worth testing out, I like it.

Having -enough- radiation in you shouldn't make you feel a thing, until you suddenly explode blood from every orfice and drop dead.

I'm kinda split. A corporation like Nanotrasen would probably have rad-detectors in their crew's suits, but Nanotrasen itself probably wouldn't.

It makes sense because it's common sense to get out of the path of a radstorm and should be wearing a radsuit/industrial armor to handle radioactive materials anyways.

Radiation should be inferred from the subtle effects it causes. Like all your hair and teeth falling out.

You touch the statue of Dr. Floorpills. It feels oddly warm.
Your teeth fall out! oh no!

Or just make radiation status effect only visible when you have a health implant (as before)

Maybe Prodocs could also be able to view the rads of other people via a symbol near them?

Or "Geiger Goggles" that let you see your own and other rads without a health implant.

is skin sloughing a usual effect of radiation poisoning that could be added in?

Spessmen would swarm the statue at round start to become skellingtons if it were.
