Immortal plants dying after first harvest

Hey, I was recently doing some botany and after finishing up, my chilli peppers were no longer immortal, didn't seem to have any mutation benefits (they were mediocre quality and had poor yield) and the generation count was sat at 0 or 1.
Here's the plants' analysis, I can't specifically tell when the plants stopped being immortal, maybe it's something coded in for supernerds with massive yields, but none of the other gene strains seemed to have worked.

I've found this seems to happen after repeatedly infusing ammonia. Possibly related to the maturation/production rates going too far negative?
