Minor Crystal plants grow in water

Crystal plants are apparently SUPPOSED to only grow when the hydroponics tray is filled with plasma instead of water, but they must not have gotten the memo because they thrive and grow when in water and are also affected by pretty much every fertilizer you could care to give them.
