A better fireball.

Make it so that, instead of throwing a mob-target-only fireball, casting the fireball spell will instead spawn a fireball item that can be thrown like a grenade. This will make the fireball much more versatile with non-combat uses.

Alternatively, make this a new spell called firebomb and keep the old fireball available.

Also, the fireball item would spawn in a free hand slot. Or better yet, it would occupy whichever slot is holding the staff.

I feel like fireball is perfect as is. It's strong, but not a one-hit kill, and it has some serious downsides.

It is a bit silly that you can only shoot it directly at people, though. You should be able to aim it at a square instead of a person in case you want to blow something up or hit an entire group.
