Critical Transparent sprites replaced by pitch black tiles, lighting system disabled
#1
I'm playing on a Windows 7 PC and I just got this issue for several days now on the latest version of BYOND. I have no idea what caused it and so far, restarting BYOND, reinstalling BYOND, clearing the BYOND cache, and updating DirectX did nothing to fix it. I made sure I had hardware rendering on aswell.

For some reason, on my end transparent sprites (read: mobs, critters, airlocks, etc.) are replaced completely by a pitch black tile. Lighting system is also completely off, not sure what caused that either.

I took some screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/eKgta

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

EDIT: It also blacks out after a while, and when I try to move, I get this error:
The instruction at 0x599015d2 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.

Click OK to terminate program.

EDIT2: It appears this same problem happens when hardware rendering is disabled. Which is weird, because I've checked multiple times and hardware rendering was ENABLED.

I know that Microsoft botched their April rollup release with several buggy patches (some relating to IE vulnerabilities; byond uses IE) and have reissued several of the patches repeatedly since (and under the same damn kb numbers...)

Have you ensured your OS is running the very latest patches?

Id also suggest updating your video drivers if you're behind at all
