Silly idea, but how about a station wide game of tag?
Someone starts off as "It"
They can touch someone to make them "It"
There is a timer
Whoever is "It" when the timer goes off has something bad happen to them
You can only see the timer when you're "It"
Every time the timer goes off, or the person that is currently "It" dies from reasons unrelated to being "It" then a random living player is selected as "It"

if you need an in-lore reason for people to be tagging each other beyond mere fun and games, any number of curses or parasites could be thought up
Or just some silly intercosmolactic radiation marking the person and only being removed via contact, and each time it transfers it progressively gets weaker until the last guy loses.

Make it a transferable miscreant-style thing that can be added to other modes. The act of tagging someone else removes your miscreant status and gives them it. Make the tag require a shove to the ground. Enjoy ensuing chaos.
Failing to transfer the tag applies an ever-increasing cascade of speech mutations.
Personally, I think all those are great ideas for the bad thing, so I'd say it should draw from the hat. The people that explode will be the lucky ones, because the people that get cluwned will still be in the game.
