Geneticists being geneticists again. The invisibility seems to be frequent and lasts a long time without possibility of disruption.
I'm fine with it going the way of Cloak of Darkness, but if anybody wants to suggest less severe fixes that's fine too.
Possibilities:
1. Have it get disrupted by the same actions that will set off a cloaking device.
2. Rework it so that it functions like a Dimension Shift power you can't control, randomly phasing in and out of reality.

I've said this in the last thread, and I feel exactly the same about UR being awful. To the point where if I see an invisible geneticist, i'd pot shot him with a mutadone dart.
The main issue is "The invisibility seems to be frequent and lasts a long time without possibility of disruption."
It should be flipped on its head. The invisibility needs to be not frequent whatsoever. I'd be up for going invisible every 20-30 minutes or so. It should be completely situational, but it isn't.

Yeah I feel like this mutation really sucks. This is pretty much my only current beef with Genetics.
Yesterday, a guy was permanently invisible almost all round, and ended up stunning and throwing me out of the shuttle.
I agree with Sundance that it should be no instability with infrequent periods of invisibility.

Two of the previous suggestions were it making you transparent, or it making only your body, not your clothes, invisible. In the very, very least it should disrupt when you interact with things.
I see it as a bug more than an imbalance, as that's just how gross it can be. Fix it.
It's as painful as having to listen to that song, back to back, for hours, thanks to depressed teens living near you.

i think it's fine the way it is
if it bothers you that much, consider investing in a thermal imaging eye or thermal goggles

The cloaker is an antag-only item that costs almost half your tcs, has to be actively held in order to work and breaks invisibility with any sort of interaction. I see no reason why a genetics power that seems to pop up almost every round should be vastly more powerful.

The cloaker doesn't need to be held anymore. That was a bug. However, the deafness while invisible bug applies to cloaker currently

While this is a totally valid solution, the fact remains that for what the mutation is, it shouldn't be more powerful than a traitor item worth a ton of telecrystals. It would be nice to see some sort of a nerf, but I think it would be a shame if the ability became completely useless because of it.
Another reason why I think that the thermals solution isn't the best approach to the nerf is that there's really only three easily accessible thermal goggles, and eye surgery is still a fairly "difficult" surgery for new players to perform, even with the doctors or roboticists around. For that reason I don't see any issue with changing the invisibility to live up to its name a little more, it should be "unstable".

Another round today, another goober with unstable refraction.
