The cargo transporter cannot transport artifacts anymore, which is rather inconvenient.

This really is a bummer. Sometimes I just wanna dick around in space and sending artifacts/abandoned crates back to the station allows me to do that while still being somewhat useful.

At least the Mining Borg version cannot. I'm pretty sure they used to be able to.

No, the only ways to transport large artifacts at the moment are Telesci or a pod cargo bay. Or just, yknow, dragging the honking thing around everywhere.

I remember Miners used to be able to teleport artifacts they uncover with their teleporters. It wasn't much but it encouraged a bit of inter-departmental cooperation (during the rare rounds Miners actually do their jobs).
