Have them drop special martian meat that does...some sort of special thing when you eat it. I dunno, maybe it makes you grow vine-arms? Gives you genocidal tendencies?

On that note, since Martian artifacts are stated to be comprised of organic material, here's a fun (if somewhat impractical) suggestion: The ability to cook Martian artifacts into food that still retains the abilities of the original artifact! Heal artifacts make the food heal more than usual, gravity artifacts emit the same gravitational pull, noisemakers make whoever ingests them a walking hellraiser so long as it's still in the bloodstream, and so on.
