When I removed the fabric and tried to put it in a smelter fabricator thing it says that the fabric itself has "No material" some other message about disappearing from my hand.

When I put it in a loom it does the same thing.

Full disclosure: This might be me being dumb. That's always a valid conclusion.

Anywyas, I was the HoP and decided to put together a sick judge outfit. To help with this, I tried making some black shoes in the Uniform Manufacturer...but it said that it lacked the required materials, even though it was stated to need 4 frabric, and 40 fabric was in the machine. Is there something I'm doing wrong here, or is this thing bugged?
