All right, so this is a gamemode idea that I was inspired by from a very old /tg/ gamemode suggestion. From what I know it was just an idea and they haven't implemented it if anyone's wondering. Now onto the gamemode:
SPOOKY SPACE SKELETON PIRATE INVASION
IN THIS GAMEMODE, the crew must fend off an invading force of spooky space skeleton pirates who are trying to convert the station into a spoooooky ghost ship, trapping everyone in it forever. If the skeletons are all dead, the crew wins. If the crew calls the shuttle and leaves with no skeletons on, they also win. But if any are on then it's a draw or something. The way the skeletons would reach this goal is by acquiring "spooks" from the crew members. Each skeleton starts off will little scares and pranks they can perform in front of crew members. When they successfully spook someone, that person is then paralyzed from the spookiness and cannot move for a short time (around 15 seconds). They don't fall over though, they just scream and stand there and go pale. After they recover, they are still in shock from the spook and are jittery, moving a bit slower than normal. Eventually this wears off too. When somebody is spooked, the skeletons as a whole, gain some spooks, depending on the type of scare. Spooked players cannot be spooked again until they recover. The more spooks the skeletons acquire, the better pranks and scares they can do, ranging from a longer stun to group scaring and the like. Also, the skeletons could also gain more powers the more spooks they get, ranging from controlling objects to changing their form to human for a short time to even controlling people and borgs for a short time! All kinds of spooky things can be gained! Eventually, once enough spooks are gained, the skeletons can then perform the final spook, affecting the entire station then turning it into a ghost ship. Everyone on board is then trapped in the ship forever to be constantly tormented by spooks. When this happens Spooky Scary Skeletons plays.
Now onto covering issues:
1. How to counter the skeletons.
Now first, skeletons would have an ability that if they are beaten to death they would crumple into a pile of bones. While in this state, they can perform a small spook to scare anyone passing by. If successful at spooking a person, the skeleton would be revived. There is still the question: how do you counter them? One idea is that you have to gib a pile of bones to totally destroy it, but in attempting to do so you will probably be spooked if you try to drag it into the crusher or something. Thus you would have to use bombs of some sort. Another idea suggested on the irc chat was that you could spray a dead pile of bones with synth-flesh, turning it back into a normal pirate. The chaplain (and maybe the HoS? He's seen some stuff you know) would be immune to all spooky related stuff. The chaplain could help people recover faster from being spooked. This would be another gamemode where the chaplain is useful. I still need more ideas for this.
2. Fighting the crew, but not being nuke.
The main tactics of the skeletons would be to scare people, not killing them. At least, not so much killing. I know this sounds a little dull but I don't want it to be a clone of nuke rounds, where either the entire crew dies or the syndicates die. This gamemode should be more silly, pushing players to come up with goofy antics and crazy ideas. One idea is that dead people can't be spooked, so less players to spook, which means less spooks to acquire (the amount of spooks to gain should be based on how many players there are when the round starts). Though the skeletons should still be able to defend themselves. Another idea is that, even though somebody dead cannot be spooked, gain enough spooks and you can get an ability to raise the skeleton from the dead corpse into another pirate to help you fight. This way, if some skeletons die, the others may need to compromise and start raising more from the dead. More ideas needed.
Also, skeleton's tactics and abilities would be leaning to the "stun" side. They would have some powers that could hurt people, but not much.
I don't know of many other main issues off the top of my head, but these are two biggies.
The things skeletons can do to people:
Skeletons would all start off with two abilities: a simple "boo" and a crumple ability. They would also be decked out in pirate gear such as swords and space flintlocks to help defend themselves, but this isn't their prime ability. The crumple ability would allow the skeleton to crumple themselves and crawl into storage objects. This is good in two ways: helps them hide themselves and spook anyone who opens the container. So one could sneak into the pharmacy, crawl into a health kit and wait for somebody to open it! Though when it happens the skeletons automatically pops out and reforms back into shape. Spooking somebody this way could cause a more lasting scare to the person. Also anyone who opens a locker with a skeleton in it is automatically spooked. Now I can't think of too many other spooky things they could gain by acquiring spooks, but here are some ideas:
More ideas and stuff would be great. Honestly, I believe that more crazy and funny things should be happening all the time on the station. A gamemode like this would be very enjoyable, I believe, to all players.
One last note, I saved the discussion on the irc over it if anyone wants to read it.

- Play a spooky song on their rib cage as a xylophone.
- Posses objects and spook players from far away distance.
- Cause a room to blackout, spooking everyone inside the room.
- Skeletons puns every time an ability is activated!
- Throwing their bones at people.
- Combine with other bones to form bigger, spookier, scarier skeleton monsters.
- Spookify objects/rooms, spooking anyone using the object/entering that room.
