The Role you play to mellow out.
#1
Sometimes we play SS13 not in the best mood and it makes us look at the role list and go: Not that one, not that one, not that one.
BUT....

What is that role you play to forget and relax of your worries?

For me it can be botanist or chaplain or barkeep.

Botanist since you can grow almost anything get funny results and failure ain't too bad.
Chaplain cause it's the RP role that is the most isolated and thus as long as I am not too active it's fairly relaxing and checking in with the station.
Barkeep since everyone comes to you for drinks and most of the time you can make something silly on the side for people who want to try, but Triple C mostly served.

Anyway what do you like to play and do to lower that bad mood?

For me, if I really have the itch to play but not the motivation to interact quite as much as I would on a busy doctor round, I go for mining! It gives me the chance to still shoot the shit on the radio, but zone out in a mining pod providing some goodies for the station.

Either staffie or bartender.
I haven't had the chance to play bartender as much recently, but I know on 3 playing either of those roles will allow me to have some great fun roleplaying with other people. It's nice to follow people around or hang out in the bar without the responsibilities of other roles.

Janitor. I can scrub the floors in maintenance with an empty head, just listening to the radio, and then get inevitably pulled into Station Drama as soon as I step out and feel like engaging with it.

Genetics, when I first started playing SS13 genetics was my first main career path, its nice plenty of activity and low interaction or urgency, nothing and no one depends on you but you can still make a difference to the shift.

Security Assistant for the best seat in watching the stations demise while not being expected to do anything.

For me its Miner or Janitor. Just go hit trock and ignore what happening on station. turn off brain and just relax hearing hit rock noise. And janitor Im walking around cleaning after all this chaotic people who run around killing each other. Good way to observe whats happening without much interaction with whatever happening lol.

For when I want to be in the periphery of the round but not fully involved, I love playing as a radio show host; I kinda just ramble about made-up music trivia/facts/news/history/drama and give the crew side quests to bring stuff to the studio. It's always relaxing, since it really is just rambling at the crew for two hours. I like to imagine any crew that are having a slow day appreciate the show bee

For me it's definitely AI. You cant do much, so you dont need to fret that much either. And you can mostly chill. Especially on rp. Classic doctor and secoff are intense, so AI is almost like observer where you get to talk to people.
