Chaplain Charms
#1
Another thread for Chaplain related items

Inspired by on these
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofuda

Essentially little stickers you can slap (or throw!) onto things to act as blessings or wards against things

This can be simply cosmetic, but I think minor effects would be acceptable

Some ideas:
Wealth charm - Stick it on a slot machine to increase win odds, vending machines to lower prices, increase produce yields on plants, put it on a person for bonuses cash on payroll payouts

Vitality Charm - Stick it on machines to decrease chances of them breaking, makes plants hardier, on a person helps reduce drug and alcohol negative effects

Love Charm - Makes items more valuable to merchants, hostile mobs less aggressive

This one is a lil bit too much.. good idea but making em temporarely would be nice. Of course Aethism doesn't make it bad.
Also the antag version would be curses.

They'd be removable in the same way other stickers are

I'd like to give a scenerio on why I want it to be temporarely if they buff people.

1: Antag has tricked the chaplain into giving him some small buffs, no one has acetone ready.
Antag goes to town with buffs.
--THIS IS THE LIGHTER OUTCOME---

2: Small antag group wants to attack the station, but the chaplain buffed all of security with it's charms.
Antag group has NO WAY of securing acetone unlike scenerio 1.

It heavily shifts balance... of course I wouldnt know if the charms have a limited amount, only work in the chapel/chaplain's aura and such.
I am just adding this in since I see some heavy problems happening in the buff department for meta gaming with a stick that permanently buffs you for the round unless someone throws acetone in your face.

Eitherway we need to see how these charms work.. but as it stands in it's vagueness I'd just wanted to add this just in case.

Having these in any capacity would be really cool, i think. It'd be best if there was a small effect - i've always held that little extra tools can help chaplains have some extra weight in rounds where the antags aren't countered by them.

The charms don't seem like they have a major effect at all. Also, if somebody goes out of their way to apply buffs to all of security or a antagonist, isn't that the kind of cross department play we want to encourage? I don't think people are going to power game it, you don't see people getting cyber organs every single round and more to the point, it's GOOD if security goes and gets cyber organs because it adds interaction.

I like the idea of these charms, none of the suggest ones do much at all, even if they did it would be a fun interaction between different jobs on the station, which is good.

It depends on the numbers of the buff and how easy it is to make it.
Let's say it's cyber organ levels of buffs and it requires is a prayer of 5 seconds.
Yea no.. Now it's TOO STRONG and REPLACES robotcists.

I am just being careful that it doesnt go too far and putting a warning: DO NOT OVER DO IT.

But giving minor buffs that you are able to counter, that's fine. Like smaller food buffs. I'd be okay with that regardless.

I am just pointing out the possibility of it getting over used.
I do want to see it regardless, but with caution.

Joke idea: They are found at the bottom of cereal boxes in the Chaplains office.
