Usual character name: Red Jamiroquai
BYOND username: Rsod
Discord username (if you are on our discord): rsod.
Recommended by (if applicable):
Goon servers you play: Heisenbee (Classic)
Reason for application + game experience (300 word minimum):
The idea of sending out a mentor application sparked in my mind a few times, given how i've noticed my tendency to sit around the questions channel in the discord, answering questions and listening in on the ones i didn't know about -- and after a bit of thinking about it i suppose i was ready, or at the very least willing to give it a shot.
Civilian:
One of my favorite departments, of which i've grown very accustomed to, i know a fair share about tiding everything the jobs, from bartending to botany to baking fractal sandwiches. I've had many rounds as Chef, staffie and Botanist, and i sometimes find myself coming back to them whenever the mood strikes me.
Engineering:
Big fan of QM and mechcomp, not so much about engines. While i know about most engines (that being geothermal, singulo and TEG), i'm not very knowledgeable on nuclear, yet i am still trying to learn it. I've played many rounds as quartermaster, miner and spent my fair share of time making mechcomp abominations (as any ""qualified"" engineer would).
Medical:
Not a lot of playtime on this department, but i feel i'm still rather experienced with the medical system altogheter and patching up just about any horribly mangled victim of The Horrors that lurk in space (and maybe in the station too). I've played a few rounds as Medical Doctor, Roboticist and Geneticist, with just about enough knowledge to do my job well.
Science:
I've spent a few days on this department alone, from messing in azones to making concrete in the lab. I have a good understanding of the chemical system overall (which ties into my Medical knowledge to some extent). Despite this, I don't know very much about secret content so far.
Command:
While I haven't spent a lot of time on this department, I've had a few HoP, CE and Captain rounds. I know the chain of command and which decisions / power go to which head, and a basic understanding of how to direct a station to (a very arguable interpretation of) success.
Silicons:
I've played a good amount of rounds as AI and borgo alike, and know most of the metal buddies' arsenal of tools and abilities at their disposal for each module (and the wacky hijinx they can get up to with enough effort).
Antagonist:
I haven't been lucky enough to be antagonist enough times to consider myself experienced and still hesitate when it's my time to Be The Bad Guy™, but i know a lot about the doodads, doohickeys and gadgets of many antagonists, and have pulled a few funny stunts with them when the right moment struck.
for the record, i'm not very good at writing essays or generally long amounts of text. please bare with me here.
