Reason for application + game experience (300 word minimum):

This must be cliche to those who review lots of Mentor applications, but the reason I am applying has been heard before in almost every Mentor application to-date. So, for your mercy:
TLDR:
This game is very, very fun - it's probably the best game I have ever played - but it is also hard to pick up. Interacting with new players as a more experienced user is really fun (not to watch new players bumbling their way into a crusher or out of an airlock, though both are good), and not to sound sappy, but it's kind of like experiencing playing the game for the first time again. So, to put 2 and 2 together, applying for mentor sounds great. I've been active for 3 years and have 1430 hours ingame, with experience with all departments but mostly Security and Command.
Or, the longer version:
Why have I applied (again)?

In Space Station 13 (my beloved), you can do anything. This is how I tried to get my friends into this game - they'd list off random things and I'd tell them if you could or couldn't do it in the game. You usually can: you can deepfry anything, you can grow alien plants, you can make a supreme, SOSHA approved TEG hellburn, etc, etc. What I love is that people are doing these things simultaneously all across one station, with several psychopathic serial killers (either syndicate or superpowered) running amock across it, causing havoc wherever they go.
It's amazing but it's also confusing - I fear that there's an alternate universe where I got stuck on some mechanic and didn't get to see what made the game special. There's a chance I discarded the game and didn't see what it had to offer - that I never got to experience it. That would've happened if I didn't have help along the way. The game is special because it does not specifically "teach" itself to you. It's up to other players, or the Wiki, to teach you how to play. In a situation where somebody can't ask, however, I would like to be a backup.

My experience
I have 1431 hours of playtime total, 894 rounds in RP and 223 in Classic. I don't play classic anymore, but I did learn to play there. Statistically, my favourite role is Captain (though I checked the other day and it was Security officer, so they must be pretty much equal). I'd like to think I'm a good communicator (the most important part of both roles) and I like to have fun with my role (hence why I have so many characters - I like to play a well rounded amount of moronic & annoying characters).
After Security and Command is Engineering - I'm too much of a nerd to stay away from Mech-comp, but not quite nerdy enough for packet-sending (not that I won't eventually give it a go). There's always somebody that you can teach in Engineering, which is great. It's the most fun department to learn things in, personally. Security Assistants are usually a blast too, buddying up with them or giving the rookies a GOOD OLE TRAINING! In all honesty, teaching security assistants the vibe of how to treat situations is more important than mechanical skill. But letting them shoot you with a tazer to get to grips with how the guns work is always fun (make sure to scream).
I have advanced knowledge in all departments except Genetics and some A-zones, just because they aren't my cup of tea, so instead of listing each department I'll just give you some weird niche facts that you may find interesting.
[*]
  • If you EMAG a segway, you can no longer do fencing with it.
  • Botany, or any place with grass, is now a great place to hide bodies if you have a shovel.
  • Wraiths can fall down elevator shafts, and also be force-fed food (much like the AI-shell) even when incorporeal
  • Every mailman starts with a syndicate mailman outfit.
  • Stirstir starts with something inside his chest. Usually a games cartridge for ages 3 and up.
  • Ghosts can weightlift. If there is another weightlift next to yours, you can lift both weights at the same time like the macho maniac you are.

What's changed since last time?
I really think I have what it takes to be a Mentor. Last year I applied but did not get traction - this year I have interacted more with the community, both in-game and on the discord (#rp-general is my favourite to browse when I have nothing else to do) and used louder, forward characters to lead other players and help them play the game. I'm not afraid to have fun, and I know that half of it is failing. Giving somebody just enough information is part of that.
Thanks for reading. I really appreciate it.  Jones the cat

PS. my computer crashed as I was writing this lmaoo i had to rewrite it

Previous bans (while this will not affect your application lying about it will): Don't think I have any bans!

I take back the part about packet nerding. This stuff is so damn cool. I can will doors open with my MIND now (PDA). Making nuclear fallout vents is probably my favourite thing with it... I now realise the sheer lethal potential of atmos....
That's one more thing checked off the list!
