I'll keep it simple. I suggest making it so plant scanners and plantmaster consoles can tell you exactly what mutation a seed has, rather than just if it has one or not. This will make splicing much easier, and make getting pentetic acid not an impossible, frustrating, time-consuming, sisyphean task.

You can tell what mutation you have from the sound the seed makes when you infuse it, while I like the idea I feel its kind of a fruitless endeavour as almost all plants have the chance to mutate when you plant them regardless.
I understand the pain all to well of trying to get the Pentetic acid Radweed mutation and then splice it with fungus, what makes it the more challenge/abysmall quality of life issue is how hard it is to splice radweed and fungus especially with a damage seed, that 65% ish chance really doesnt feel like 2/3rds, especially after you have made 18 or more infusions trying to get the right mutation. At least thats my view on the issue.

Wait, sound the seed makes? What in the world? Can you elaborate on that please?

I absolutely can!
If your going for the route I think your trying where you infuse a radweed seed with mutagenic formula (unstable mutagen) the seed will make a sound when it mutates after the infusion, Radweed in particular has two different sound effects for its mutations, the first one is the normal sound a plant makes when it mutates or gains a trait. Sometimes you might see and hear this chime when you place any kind of seed in a tray and see the tray shake its like a slightly high pitched ring or chime.
When infusing the Radweed seeds in the machine if you hear this high pitched chime that means you have got the White Radweed pentetic acid mutation. The alternative mutation is Smoldering Radweed (CLF3) the sound the seed makes when you get this upon infusing sounds something like a smoldering hiss ended with a book being dropped on a kitchen counter.

when attempting to achieve the same thing you was I got curious as to why they made different sounds, so I planted one of each noise to see which noise produced which result.

I would have never even NOTICED they made different sounds!
