Digbot Remote
#1
Lightbulb
mining's overshadowed little minions - digbots!
they're fun to have around, but are useless when you have 1 or 2, and begin to become a hassle to pack up into a locker after every magnet cycle.
also, kiinda proposing a change / addition to digbot behavior, anyways..
why not rectify this issue with the equivalent of the civilian's sawfly remote?
this thing is simple, and it comes with a bunch of tools.
First tool: Recall - calls every digbot on screen to a 3x3 area around you, before going idle. good for dragging the 70 digbots you've made to wherever you want to bring them. Of course, a locker's easier for longer distance travels.
Second tool: Set Behavior - allows you to change the settings of every digbot around you at the same time, and also whether they'll target any rock or only ones inside a magnet's field.
Third tool: Toggle On / Off - simple enough. either toggles every digbot around you off, or on.
Fourth tool: Mine - every digbot around you instantly starts searching for rock. they'll go back to idle if they don't see any, and complain.

(and hey, maybe emagging it lets you make the digbots hostile by recognizing humans as ore?)

I'd be down for this. I love the idea of mining robots and the fact the current digbots are really underwhelming stinks.

The magnet thing especially is just god-awful. It's the sole reason I don't use digbots, they always get crushed and cost way too much to manufacture.

i think they should try to return to the nearest ore accumulator if they're done mining on a magnet

that works too, but i've had issues where they'd be done, spot a random rock outside the magnet (Atlas, obviously) and wander off mining everything
but yeah that'd be a good compromise too

Have them be packet controlled would actually be awesome
