Merge the APC pinpointer into the atmospheric scanner.

I do get this, but bear in mind a few do already exist and I think get a good pass mentally because it feels right: Meson goggles with mechcomp tracking integrated, PDAs a veritable toolboxes in their own right, the T-Ray scanner, the upgraded medical scanner so on.

I mean, i don't want to sound too defensive about this because it's not a big issue to me, but like the medical scanner feels "right" to me because the upgrades have a sort of synergy. Detecting the composition of air and APCs don't have that feel if done by the same instrument.

EDIT: The rest of the tools mentioned also don't feel that right to me (in varying degrees) just to be clear, but i understand that it's easier to have mesons have multiple effects than to have four pairs of engineering glasses.

Oh yeah don't worry, it's more of a personal taste thing with what tool you synergise to smile nothing wrong with talking out an idea and I don't mean to imply that I think using a tool in general wouldn't work too, just covering that for me the issue might be more "APCs just aren't good at being visible in the dark where they're most commonly needing to be found. You could also point out my suggestion doesn't help much in the light, and we have some "upgradable" tools in other departments.

Nothing wrong with doing both either I think: APCs generally aren't something people "steal" or "hide" (damage, certainly) so its not like say the TEG semiconductor where you actually might want to conceal it and making it more visible goes against letting an antag do that.

I get what you mean. I can sort of see it making sense if you consider it from the angle of it being for hooking up atmospherics machinery to an existing APC

Anything for less inventory on engi; it's the only job I run out of item slots on (toolbox included)

Device analyzer and APC tracker combined makes sense to me; analyzer should be the limiting item, I imagine. Everyone has atmos on their PDA and anyone can have APC locators if they have a second monitor and pull SDMM up wink
