Cargo makes that kind of cash in minutes and slots will never make that kind of cash the way it's currently implemented. Barring magnificent luck, you wouldn't breach 100k in a few minutes on slots the way they were before, either.
FYI you can win the lottery every shift as well as multiple times every shift. Sometimes you win multiple times in the same lottery level, too. You don't spend tens of thousands either, you can spend 5k or less to reliably get it. It's what I do.
The odds for slots might be 10:9, but your assumption that all of those wins create money is inaccurate; the entry level "win" is a free spin and it's weighted the heaviest. The odds of you not hitting 0 credits when you roll 9x 100 credit spins is pretty slim.

i'd be keen on the slot machine giving out quirky prizes rather than being purely a cash generator, when the odds were high i'd see someone on a machine every few rounds. nowadays i don't recall ever seeing anyone on them.
perhaps the greater returns could be prizes that require other departments to cash out (gems, processed ingots, maybe even artifacts)

I like this idea alot.
As it spices things up and gives more reason to do this with item drops.

When it feels like you’re just throwing away credits with nothing fun in return, it kills the vibe. The balance should still let you snag a big win once in a while without needing to bet a ton just to break even. Otherwise, what’s the point of spinning at all.
Speaking of slots, if you’re into the real thing, I’ve been checking out some EU casinos that are open to UK players. Sites like
https://non-ukcasinos.com have lists of options if you ever want to see how the odds stack up online.

I used to make insane money on my bank account using the ore trader and scanning my ID card to the barcode scanner. Now that there's a limit to buying, I can't make as much money anymore.
Also makes me sad they needed the profit from produce crates, and cotton making money even harder in cargo.
Newest meta is getting crayon maker and selling it was writing utensils to cargo traders.

Ok, so why was a 2 year old thread necro'ed by a very new account without any other postings on the forum?

given how they're mostly abandoned, worth increasing the number of low payout rewards, perhaps the jackpot could be lowered so that it becomes kind of a slow-burn money maker you can do while socializing and getting cute prizes.
i imagine this is a WYCI tho

because someone saw the thread, as it was identical to their thoughts, and decided to contribute. necro'ing old threads with useless posts is a different ordeal. let's not just waste posts bashing people for this when they're trying to contribute in good faith.

I don't think we should be showing gambling being profitable, even jokingly, when there are a decent portion of young people playing.

The uh, lottery is pretty profitable and (for a lottery) pretty easy to win. We have gatchapon machines, underage drinking and murder. I do not personally accept the premise when the gambling is -entirely- within the confines of the game for disney dollars and there's no round-permanent lootbox stuff.
I'll go buck wild to stop our inevitable pod armour DLC or SSR Wraith round pulls I promise and while I think it's good to keep things like that in mind and bring them up, I don't think that's the issue here myself.
What I do think though, is making the roulette machines a way to make any kind of money even semi-reliably is going to be very very boring. The lottery works because you buy a ticket and move on with your round. Though if you want a good advert -against- gambling having three staff assistants every round sitting still playing the slots is a pretty good one. Plus honestly, the roulette machines -sucking- is just funnier. Unless you gamified the system like Earthfire's original concept (or just break the damn thing for a one-time dose of credits for clowns on the go) I'm pretty happy where things are.

For what it's worth I believe some jurisdictions have laws about simulated gambling in games that allow minors - it's why Pokemon removed the casino in NTSC-U/C and PAL carts for HGSS and why it didn't even add a casino in Gen V onwards. I doubt we'd ever run afoul of that, but I'd guess that the better the light we portray gambling in the more likely that, should someone happen to stumble across this silly farty spaceman game, they'll report it to someone who could cause trouble. Remember, we don't allow VPNs, if a country blocks us then any players in it are SOL.
