Hot Potato/Curse Based Antagonist
#1
I'll try to keep it short and simple. But after watching a film called "The Ring" I thought it would be cool to have a player start with a cursed item and a timer that they can only see on their screen.

While they have the cursed item they cant go all out meaningless killing but they are allowed to do anything as long as it helps pass it on to the next person which can save them from the curse.

It could just be a gamemode, could be part of a really cool wraith path, or its own thing where a monster nobody else see's can pursue them. Items could be a special tape or a really suspicious but everyday tool.

I think would add a level of intrigue and fun betrayal situations.

The item would only be able to be permanently destroyed by a special ritual or something and would kinda find its way into another hand if someone tried to cheat their way out.

Kinda like the Mask. I don't know 100%, might be a dumb idea. Unless its part of a wraith path specializing in this sorta thing.

As Janus points out. The reverse is better.

Essentially a "CLUWNE" mask that allows you to be an antagonist, but also points the biggest bullseye on your back.
However if security , the captain or the chaplain (regardless of antag status) gets a hold of it... the mask is destroyed.

The curse shouldn't change the rules or make you a soft-antag, it should just put a timer on your life, and if you can't get rid of the cursed item in time, you die.

The cursed item shouldn't be called "cursed item", it should just be an ordinary item you can easily pawn off to the next guy, and only once X minutes pass after they grabbed it do they get told "that item was cursed and you have to pawn it off to someone else". That way, people aren't trying to become cursed to get extra ruling, and instead are trying to get rid of the curse.
