I think if the doors would just be very obviously and visibly sparking it'd be fine already. Most of the suggestions are cool too. Imho the concept of a door that nearly kill you without you having a clue is the antithesis of escalation, if the door was more visibly dangerous then you could at least add a way for people to grab someone and press them against the door for the same effect.

to be honest, the move away from instakills is something i really do not like to see. Just make it a bit obvious, but still instantly lethal.

My opinion specifically on the instakill business is that being rocketed across the room with BURN measured in exponents is significantly funnier than just vaporizing.

yeah I'm fine with the instant kill from door shock just not with the gib. its a lame way to get permanently thrown out of the round just cuz you touched a door that an AI clicked on

But if a traitor engi goes through the effort to hellburn the engine, they deserve the satisfaction of the insta-kill shock. Maybe go the Home Alone route and ahve it leave behind a cloneable skeleton.

Holy shit I forgot how funny that scene was. New idea: Make them get stuck, progressively take damage (Faster depending on the wattage) and their hair stands up on end (change the style), eventually turning into a skeleton and dying. Funny as hell

yea gibbing from full health is a 2016-era punishment. people died more back then, and most people scanned in. instadeath is an improvement - perhaps doors get a unique electrocuted sprite too. i can't imagine the LEDs on board can handle that throughput that well
