Possible Balace for the janitor's Buff R Matic
#1
So, the janitor has gotten the buff r matic back as standard equipment. Obviously this led to people raiding the janitor's closet at round start to keep the thing away from him (this will Probably become a normal thing sadly.)

So I have some ideas on how to Balance the thing, firstly how about actually having water in it actually clean the floors (like the mop) so people will think its actually useful.

Secondly, we should probably have some sort of ID scanning thing on it so that only people with janitor access can climb on it because right now people will probably Most likely Certainly shove the janitor off it and hilariously ride it into the crusher/space/(insert dumb/dangerous place here)

And finally, perhaps make it emaggable? like how the hypospray acts, it wont use any dangerous chems and only useful ones (so the thing wont accept space lube, napalm, ETC.) possibly make it somewhat obvious when it is emagged? And let it accept all of those dangerous chems when it is emagged.

Just a suggestion, but might aswell put it out there.

im pretty OK with this. Maybe when its emagged, have it make horrible mechanical groaning noises, and have smoke billowing out of it?

If the buff-r-matic requires the janitor's ID then how will we do races with them?

Only spawn the Buff R Matic on the Clown Job Day, so that the Clown and Janitor can fight over it for all eternity as they were meant to.

Janitor should spawn with a key. When held in his active hand while riding he can use the buffer. The only way someone else can use it is if they get the key from him/her/it somehow.

That is literally taken 100% from TG station. One of the few rounds I played months ago was as a janitor, and they have a little sprite with a keychain and everything.

Doesn't the janitor start off with a space cleaner tank in his room? Just use the bucket on that and fill the buff o' matic, it's not that hard.

And how about putting the buff o matic in a janitor locked crate? That should solve the problem easily. If he gets shoved off it by the clown, good. It will be one of those things you see on the wiki "Clean already clean floors, whine about beatings. Stuff everything into your trash cart. Get buff o matic stolen by clown."

Do not modify the wiki just to add more shit to an already mouthful descriptor.

You don't really start off with much space cleaner (if at all)

you start with two-three space cleaner spraybottles. The tank is for water

You say that like it's not an expected likelihood. Not gonna add keys.

Can we add a Miscreant Objective of "Steal the Janitor's Segway and gloriously ride it into the crusher"?

How bout letting it remove other reagents from the floor, leaving only what is in the buffer?
That way it could be used to remove space lube and whatever else that can be hazardous on the floor.

load it up with fire fighting foam and ride into the blaze??

Having it be ID locked is kind of dumb. Just give it a seat belt so that the rider is harder to push off (with a 10% chance of snapping off on a push attempt).

Obviously, the seat belt isn't automatic, there should be a verb and/or right click menu command to buckle up.

Yeah, I think the Buff-R-Matic should, instead of clean the floors and leave them sopped with water and cause everyone to slide all over the fucking place, suck up chemicals spilled on the floor and load them into a little reservoir that has to be emptied occasionally.

Until you emag it and it goes into reverse..
