I'm late to this response, but that's a genius addition. A "Stinky" trait that gives +1, adds hygiene, but also makes it more punishing (less stamina regen?)

This is always the best idea, making it an option.
Just as long as no one else keeps getting warnings going: "This person might be stinky" or "Something smells bad"

I like this approach. Traits that give you a meter to babysit, while engaging with roleplay oriented system. You could do stuff like continuous hair growth where you'd periodically need to get your haircut.

Frank, you are cooking with this idea. We have a bunch of unused sims sitting around as well (comfort, fun, energy, social), making these opt-in traits is such a good idea.
