George's barks are way too loud, and way too frequent.

Since dogs have been mobified, they've had some extra code introduced that allows them to play fetch, and have a 1% chance every game tick to bark.

The fetch is nice, but the barking... Good lord if you're within more than a few screenlengths of George, all you can hear are his howls and barks every minute or so. I wouldn't mind if the barks and howls didn't sound like he was in pain...

So I propose either getting some new, subtle/less pained dog sounds, or reverting the barks to how they worked before with them only playing when an instrument is played nearby.

I agree. Even Jones's meowing can be a bit worrying as a cat owner.. but George's barking is so loud and sad...
You could say realism.. but let's give him some less intrusive barking and only do the "painful" ones with instruments.

jones meows once a minute and george uses the noise that's supposed to be used when he barks along with an instrument every time he barks
