Complaint Possible admin intervention, Classic Server 1 - Do you enjoy insulting other people?

Hello again, on the October 25th I was playing on the Goonstation Classic Server 1 and in one of the rounds I decided to observe and became a ghost. Around 26-27 minutes mark, I got a prompt and was asked if I wanted to be a candidate to play as a random event antagonist and I clicked yes. After 120 seconds passed, I became a fire elemental for the first time and decided to have some fun and practice in order to learn how to play as that antagonist. But here, this is where it gets weird. In one point during the round, I decided to blow up medbay and I took a fueltank with me and brought it near the medbay entrance and blew it up. Then after some time I ran into the medbay itself to cause some more chaos and it worked for awhile, until someone called a security officer who tased me and I got beat up to death. After my death, I didn't notice anything unusual, until I looked at the red box where it usually says "You have died!", but in my case it said "haha you died loser." Amazing, good job whoever did this and changed the text, thank you so much, you are so cool.

Now sarcasm aside, what were you thinking? Even if I am not right about this one and that change wasn't made by one of the admins who were on the server at that time like pali and Katzen if I remember correctly, then why is this still in the game and why you find stuff like that acceptable on your server? Why do you enjoy insulting and harassing players so much for no reason at all? What is wrong with you? Why should I deal with your childish shenanigans like that? First, it was your Animus Station admin CaptainBravo (with many different complaints about them already on the record and they are still being a server admin mind you, that just really shows how much you care about these complaints and people that wrote them) who publicly insulted me by changing their BYOND ckey via admins tools to "FazbeusSmellsLikeSkunkVomit" after I sent an ahelp ticket asking about the players who killed me and now you do this? Are you kidding me? And the answer is yes, you absolutely are.

Because this is the second time I encounter things like that on your server and it seems like nothing is ever going to change in that regard, since I am making Space Station 13 content like detailed server reviews and Goonstation is next on my list, I will show everyone outside this community how exactly you treat your players and how much you appreciate them for playing on your server. I will definitely cover CaptainBravo's behavior and this one as well.

That death message is one of a few possibilities you can get when dying (at 1% chance). You can see it in the code here, along with the other possible death messages:

Many of them are references to other things such as Space Quest. The one you got is a reference to the special message you get if you die as John Bill, one of the diner NPCs.


There is no way for admins to personalize your death message.

Yeah to be clear, this wasn't the work of an admin, and no one was targeting you. There's a very small chance in the code, that when you die, you get a special death message. You were one of the lucky (or not so lucky) few. You can check out what Zamu linked if you want to confirm for yourself. 

It sucks that you felt personally targeted, but again, it was just random chance. And as for -

I know that 2 months passed since of posting this complaint, but I decided to reply anyways.

I genuinely didn't know at the time that changing player's death messages was not possible by using admin commands and I thought that someone from the admin team did this me (after looking back at the CaptainBravo incident), but as you said it turns out to be an actual in-game feature for some unknown reason and is a part of an easter egg of a game that I never heard about? Okay, sure.

I did felt personally attacked, because as I said earlier, I thought that was an admin who was doing this to me just to mock me or laugh at me when I died as an antagonist. I probably shouldn't have to feel targeted or insulted in the first place at things like these, but I would blame my non-existent mental health and constant thoughts of suicide for that, which sometimes makes me feel offened for such stupid stuff like this when I look at them. I am sorry if I sound angry or frustrated in this complaint over pretty much nothing.

And also, remember where I said that I will be doing a video review of Goonstation where I will be discussing this complaint and CaptainBravo's behaviour? Forget about it, this not a thing anymore. I tried doing a video review on another server, but it was quickly proven to me that it was a terrible idea when I analyzed it for myself and my voice used in narration being described as "robotic", I most likely won't ever come to making these kind of videos again (especially after the deletion of the first one by me).

Since two of my complaints are very inactive, I doubt that I will get any kind of meaningful conclusion to both this complaint and CaptainBravo one anytime soon, do whatever you want with them, I can't change that much myself anyways.
